fotos

i like taking photos. most of them are rubbish. i have wanted to go on a photography course for the past few years, but never had the time & the money at the same time. oh well - no one has to brilliant at their hobbies.

in any case, some of my photos are worth other people having a squizz at. if the photo on the left whets your appetite, take a peek at my
flickr page. if you have an account there, add me as a contact. feel free to laugh or cry at them, but it would nice to know if you actually like any!

being ill in october

as you can see, i haven't updated this blog since i started it. that's because i've been ill. it's been a weird experience really. i thought i just had a cold, and it would pass in a couple days. after all, it's october. who gets sick in october? a week later, and i was still battling with a gross cough and the usual suspects. finally, after almost two weeks, i'm almost 100%.

i find it odd because i've hated it. i can't stand being ill as it stops me from doing all the things that i usually get up to, forces me to watch rubbish afternoon tv and drains me of all motivation i might have had. having said that, i started the blog while being ill because i was so incredibly bored but enough about being sick - it was only a rough cold. there are worse things in the world. i just wanted to vent.

venting over.

update: i went to the dr was nice enough to give me some good ol' antibiotics. and i'm feeling much better.

First time blogging....

I'm new to this, which is slightly embarassing considering how long the internet has been around. But to be honest, I've never had anything that interesting to share with people. My almost-adult life has so far been filled with the usual combination of university, work and vacations. A few major dramas here and there, but no real adventures.

But all that is going to change. I'm leaving for South Africa in a few months time. In complete contrast to the brains sliding down the drains of Africa and landing in the UK, I'm heading back there in the hope of doing some volunteer work. If I'm lucky, I might even manage to land myself a job. Who knows - as I keep saying to all my friends and family who look at me with a dumbstruck look on their face when I tell them what my plans are "I'm just going to see how things go......"
